MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

That the Manager undertakes under the auspices of the Heritage officer a feasibility study of the provision of an Irish Aviation Museum and Heritage Centre at a suitable location within Tallaght to highlight and promote the unique history of aviation within the county and in particular in the Tallaght area.

REPORT:

Through the implementation of the County Heritage Plan, supportive discussion and engagement has been a feature between SDCC and the Air Corps regarding the Aviation Heritage Museum in Casement Aerodrome. 

Outline parameters for a feasibility study can be discussed in consultation with the Air Corps. 

Such a study could proceed with their agreement and would be subject to the identification of a suitable budget.
