QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to arrange for the cutting of grass along Butterfield Avenue in front of Rathfarnham Shopping Centre as soon as possible?"

REPLY:

The Parks Section maintains roadside margins in residential areas where they are located in front of open space and there is no adjacent property. The Parks Section does not maintain grass margins in front of, or to the side of, houses and commercial premises in residential areas because such areas are usually maintained by the adjoining property owners.

The grass margin along Butterfield Avenue in front of Rathfarnham Shopping Centre does not form part of the maintenance schedule for the area and, as far as can be established, the management of the shopping centre has maintained this margin for many years. 

Arrangements will be made to contact the management of the shopping centre to establish the maintenance arrangements.
