QUESTION NO. 9

QUESTION: Councillor A.M. Dermody

"To ask the Manager if he has had an opportunity of reading the letter from the Butterfield and District Residents’ Association (Elkwood Green subcommittee) sent by email and dated 29th April 2012 and whether or not he has had an opportunity of putting the Residents’ issues to Knocklyon United and their response to same.  To ask the Manager to confirm the term of the lease between SDCC and Knocklyon United?" 

REPLY:

The Council has responded to the letter of the 29th April from the Butterfield and District Resident’s Association (Elkwood Green Sub Committee).  The Knocklyon Utd FC have rebutted by letter to the Association many of the issues raised by the Elkwood Sub Committee.  However, the Council is arranging to meet with the Club to further discuss and clarify the issues.  The Council has also indicated to the Association that it is the intention to organise a further meeting between the two groups in order that the matter can be dealt with in a non contentious manner.

Knocklyon Utd have a letting from the Council for the playing field at Elkwood and this letting must be applied for annually.
