QUESTION NO.6
QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine
"To ask the Manager to consider Residents requests that replacement trees be planted at the newly railed and gated Drumcairn Drive green space?"
REPLY:
Recent Arboricultural Programmes have focussed the available resources on the maintenance of existing trees and only limited tree planting has been carried out in locations where local community support has been high. This is essential to ensure the greatest chance of success for new trees.
The Council is willing to consider replacement tree planting on the open space at Drumcairn Drive but would have to be satisfied that the local community would actively support such an initiative to ensure that the trees would have the best opportunity to establish and grow on into the future.
Arrangements will be made to discuss these matters with representatives of the local residents.
