MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

QUESTION NO. 9

QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"To ask the Manager if, further to the heavy rainfall experienced in recent weeks; and any examination conducted on foot of this rainfall, if it is intended to now install additional storm-water drainage gullies at Esker Lane (further to discussion at March meeting) and at Esker Road between Newcastle Road junction and the entrance to Finnstown Abbey?"

REPLY:

Some minor ponding occurs on Esker Lane at the bungalows near the entrance to St. Edmundsbury off the Lucan Road after heavy rain but it quickly dissipates. There would seem to be sufficient gullies along this stretch of road. There are plans to resurface Esker Road between the Newcastle Road and the entrance to Finnstown Abbey later in the year. Before this work is undertaken the existing drainage along this stretch of road will be examined and improved if necessary.
