MAINTENANCE OF N4 MEDIAN FROM DUBLIN CITY BOUNDARY TO M50

The grass cutting of the median on the N4 at Palmerston will commence on Saturday 19th May (weather permitting).  The funding will be sourced from Dept. of Transport grants and SDCC own resources.

An alternative of replacing the grass median with hard standing would cost in excess of €300,000 due to material, barrier and traffic management costs.  Any dense low planting would still need to be cut on a yearly basis .

The current layout of grass is considered satisfactory.
