QUESTION: Councillor T. Delaney

To ask the Manager  to report on the lack of action to secure the vacant properties in SDCC ownership adjacent to the proposed Round Tower Park & Museum site?

REPLY:

The Council has to date acquired two of the three dwellings at Millview necessary for the overall project proposed for the Round Tower site and is negotiating the acquisition of the third property at present.The Council is committed to the protection of Millview Cottages, one of which was burned in a fire.  The built fabric of the cottage has now been secured.  The Council also owns the two properties at 15 & 16 Tower Road , one of which is let at present and the remaining one at No 16 which is boarded up at present to secure the property. The Council will continue to monitor and secure the properties in so far as resources permit until such time as the overall Project can be advanced.
