QUESTION NO. 25
QUESTION: Councillor T. Gilligan
To ask the Manager to thank the Community Department for their input into the Clondalkin Festival and to request an update for the coming months?
REPLY:
Senior community staff have attended four meetings in Clondalkin Garda Station of the Clondalkin Village Festival group which is being lead by the Clondalkin Village Chamber.
The festival is scheduled for Saturday 30th June -Sunday 1st July. There will be a cycle from the Clondalkin Leisure Centre (start time 12.30) though the Village and finishing at the Mill Centre. Participants will be encouraged to wear their club or organisational colours/tee shirts. The annual Garda open day will commence as the cycle event ends. The hope is that a Céilí will be hosted by Áras Cronain , on the Saturday evening.
On Sunday, the Village will be closed to traffic from 2pm to 6pm to allow for the Festival fun day activities. A full programme will be available soon.
The Festival is being jointly funded by the Chamber and SDCC.
