QUESTION NO. 11
QUESTION: Councillor T. Delaney
To ask the Manager for an update on the lack of action regarding the removal of two redundant telephone kiosks in Clondalkin Village, one on Main Street and the other on New Road outside the Laurels. This action was initially committed to in May 2011 and again at the March 2012 meeting?
REPLY:
Further to previous replies and following an extensive search, the firm, i-Point Ltd, who have taken responsibility for the phone kiosks, have been located. The contact person in i-Point Ltd. has confirmed that they have assumed ownership from Smart Telecom / Esat. They have stated that they will commence disconnecting the power source and removal of the kiosk will then take place. SDCC road maintenance crews will follow and immediately carry out any re-instatements that are required to footpaths. The removal of the Clondalkin kiosks will be carried out in May 2012.
