MOTION NO. 12
MOTION: Councillor T. Ridge
That weekly inspections regarding selling on footpaths be monitored as this problem still continues at Main St. Clondalkin.
REPORT:
A recent inspection of Clondalkin Village showed six infringements of Section 71 of the Roads Act 1993 relating to six individual premises along and in the vicinity of the Main Street. The main reason relates to advertising boards on the street outside the premises in question. Two shops with goods displayed at the front of their premises and along the shopfront were noted, intrusion onto the footpath in both cases was minimal and would not warrant seizure of the goods (under S71) in question. However as a first step in addressing these infringements verbal warnings are being issued, this will be followed up with a further inspection within the next two weeks. As has been the case previously such action has proven effective but should further inspections reveal ongoing infringements then Final Notices will be issued as necessary in conjunction with local Gardai.
