MEETING OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

Monday, May 14, 2012

QUESTION NO. 3

QUESTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

To ask the manager what the view is to install a 'Dog Park' in parks throughout the county. Mainly Corkagh Park and Griffeen Valley? similar to what is in Marlay Park (DLRCoCo)

REPLY:

A dog run has recently been completed in Corkagh Park and is available for use by the public. The dog run is located on the western side (Caravan Park / Naas Road side) of the park, and can be easily accessed via the Oak Avenue. The initial response from the public to the dog run has been very positive.

It is proposed to commence work shortly on a dog run in Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan with an expected completion date of the end of May.

It is also proposed to provide a dog run in Tymon Park, subject to identification of a suitable site and the availablity of resources at that time.
