QUESTION NO. 2

QUESTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"To ask the Manager to contact the ESB to request that the green area behind the ESB substation at Church Lane Rathfarnham Village be maintained i.e. that the grass and undergrowth be cut back and ask the Manager to put in place a continued maintenance of this green area?"

REPLY:

There is a working protocol established between this Council and the ESB for the removal of graffiti and/or litter from ESB property in the Council's administrative area.  Any reports of graffiti/litter in such areas are inspected by the local Litter Warden and referred to a designated contact within the ESB who arranges for removal/clean-up as necessary.  This has generally been working well and work is carried out promptly.  The site at Church lane will be inspected and refferred to the ESB as necessary for removal of any litter/dumping.  While the arrangement doesn't specifically cover grass etc. this request in question will also be forwarded.
