QUESTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"To ask the Manager to contact the ESB to request that graffiti be removed from the ESB substation at Church Lane Rathfarnham Village and to put in place a continued maintenance of graffiti removal at the substation?"

REPLY:

The ESB have a scheduled maintenance programme in operation where they cyclically paint sub-stations as required but there is also a working protocol established between this Council and the ESB for the removal of graffiti and/or litter from ESB property in the Council's administrative area.  Any reports of graffiti/litter in such areas are inspected by the local Litter Warden and referred to a designated contact within the ESB who arranges for removal/clean-up as necessary.  This has generally been working well and work is carried out promptly.  The site at Church lane will be inspected and referred to the ESB as necessary.
