QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor A.M. Dermody
"To ask the Manager for an update on the progress being made with regard to the tendering for completion of remedial work caused to the River Dodder at Butterfield Avenue as a result of recent flooding. To ask if at this point in time the funding has been confirmed and to ask when it is envisaged the remedial work can commence?"
REPLY:
There are no tender documents for the completion of remedial works on the Dodder River at the back of the houses along Butterfield Avenue. South Dublin County Council's Water Services Department has commissioned a report from our Consultants, RPS, to examine the effects of the flooding on the 24th of October 2011, on the banks of the Dodder River at the backs of 15 to 23 odd Butterfield Avenue, and recommend the best remedial solution and to cost same. This report is due by the end of May 2012. The Water Service Department has applied to the OPW for funding for this project but to date has received no indication if funding will be made available.
