MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

That this Area Committee requests the Manager to engage with local sporting clubs to examine the possibility of applying for Sports Capital Funding for the provision of additional playing pitches in the proposed extension of Griffeen Valley Park, south of the railway.

REPORT:

SDCC Sports Partnership is convening  a series of information sessions with sporting clubs on a county wide basis, including the area of this committee, for purpose of creating awareness on the 2012 Sports Capital Scheme announced by the Minister on the 28th March last.
