MOTION NO. 7

MOTION: Councillor C. Brophy

That the Manager provide an update on the masts on the Badminton Hall on Whitehall Road and that the Council will actively seek to reduce the number of masts at this location as part of the licensing process

REPORT:

There is an extensive planning history for telecommunications infrastructure on this site. 

Planning permission for Retention of the following proposal was granted under Reg. Ref. SD11A/0063 on 22/06/2011; “Existing telecommunications base station installation comprising three no. antennas and 1 no. link dish mounted on 2 no. offset poles together with ground-based equipment container and security fence.”

This permission was granted for a period of 5 years in accordance with Government Guidelines.

Planning permission for the following proposal was granted on 31/05/2011 under Reg. Ref. SD11A/0051; 3 no. antenna, 1 no. radio link dish at roof level, associated equipment and outdoor equipment cabinet at ground level which forms part of the applicant's 3G communications network as previously granted under An Bord Pleanála reference PL06S.216795 (previously L.A. Ref. SD05A/1066).”

This permission was also granted for a period of 5 years.

An inspection of the lands will be carried out to ensure compliance with the planning permissions granted.
