COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO. 18
QUESTION: Councillor T. Gilligan
To ask the Manager to re-instate the bin between the two seats outside the Clondalkin Civic Offices. Why was this bin removed?
REPLY:
The litter bin at the Clondalkin Civic Offices was installed by the contractor during the boardwalk construction. Its installation differed from that of the standard Council bin in that it was embedded into the timber of the boardwalk. The Cleansing Section requested that the Roads Maintenance Section remove the bin following damage and reinstate the subsequent gap in the timber.
The Council will reinstate a bin in this area. It should be noted that standard bins require a certain depth of concrete beneath them to anchor the holding down bolt mechanism and the cleansing foreman will be asked to determine the best location for the bin.
