QUESTION NO. 30

QUESTION: Councillor T. Delaney

To ask the Manager to report on whether protecting and enhancing the stone walling throughout the Village would qualify for grant aid from the Structures at Risk Fund?

REPLY:

The Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht is continuing to operate the Structures at Risk Fund (SRF) for 2012.  The purpose of the SRF is to assist with works to safeguard structures protected under the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2011 where, in the opinion of the Department, an urgent need for works to such structures has arisen and has been demonstrated.

Only structures in immediate danger of significant deterioration will qualify for consideration for funding by the Department, therefore given that the stone walls throughout Clondalkin Village are not Protected Structures they would not be eligible for grant aid under the Structures at Risk Fund.
