MOTION NO. 22
MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan
That the Manager outlines the situation at the Kishoge train station. Is it in use?
REPORT:
Kishoge Train Station was constructed as part of the Kildare Route Project Phase 1. The Kildare Route Project (KRP) extends from west of Heuston Station to a point just west of Hazelhatch Station. The Project comprises the provision of two extra tracks to create a four-track system; the relocation of Cherry Orchard Station to Parkwest and Clondalkin Station to Fonthill Road and the provision of new train stations at Fonthill Road and Kishoge. The project, including a new station at Kishoge, was completed in 2010. This station has not opened to date. In December 2011, the National Transport Authority and Irish Rail confirmed that the station is scheduled to open in late 2012. There is no further update on the proposed opening date at this time.
