COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, April 24, 2012
MOTION NO. 16
MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
That the Manager bring forward to this Committee, as a matter of urgency, firm, realistic and costed proposals for the suitable treatment of the N4 median from the County Boundary at Chapelizod to the M50/J7 intersection, that will be ascetically and environmentally acceptable to a residential setting and which will provide for low-cost sustainable maintenance into the future and that funding be sought from the NRA to allow the work to be undertaken during the current year.
REPORT:
The grass was cut on one occasion on the N4 at Palmerstown in 2011 using funding for the Queen's visit.
Roads will coordinate with the Parks Department and grass cutting of the median at Palmerstown will be carried out in May.
The road inside the M50 is no longer a National Road but is now the Regional Road R148.The maintenance of Regional roads is funded from Dept. of Transport grants and Council own resources.
