QUESTION: Councillor A.M. Dermody

"To ask the Manager if the tree cutting programme for 2012 is still on target.?"

REPLY:

The 2012 Arboricultural Works Programme, agreed with the Elected Members in December 2011, runs from January 2012 to December 2012.  As the dormancy period for trees has broken earlier this year, tree works have ended for the time being and staff resources have been re-assigned to the grass cutting programme.

Tree works will be resumed in the next dormant period which is expected to commence towards the end of October / early November 2012. The programme will continue to the end of December 2012, having regard to the resources available. 

As previously advised, a progress report on the Arboricultural programme will be presented to the Members setting out progress to date.
