MOTION NO. 10

MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"That the Manager agree to replace the 'gate/barrier' to the culvert upstream of Castlefield Manor. This was requested by Castlefield Manor Residents Association following the flooding last October."

REPORT:

There is a damaged screen where the Ballycullen Stream changes from an open stream to a piped stream on the edge of Ballycullen Road above Woodstown Estate. This screen is in place to stop stones, branches and other debris from entering the enclosed piped Ballycullen Stream which runs through Castlefield and other estates down to the Dodder River near Mount Carmel Park. Such debris can cause blockages and therefore flooding in these enclosed systems. As this existing screen is damaged it is only partly doing it's job. There are plans to replace this existing screen with a new one in the coming months.
