MOTION NO. 24

MOTION: Councillor C. Jones

That the Manager will identify potential sites for the newly proposed primary school for the Lucan south area and will pay due regard to the proximity of existing schools and their catchment areas.

REPORT:

The Department of Education and Skills has requested the Council to identify a number of potential sites for primary schools in the Lucan area in addition to those already identified at St Edmundsbury and the Esker Depot.  A report on potential site options is being prepared in order to assist future site acquisition.  Assessment of potential site options will have regard to the location of existing primary schools.
