SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

QUESTION NO. 4
QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
To ask the Manager, further to my motion discussed at the January meeting, if it can be arranged that the unsightly bring-banks at Griffeen Road (Moy Glas) to be replaced, that signage at this location be repaired and that monitoring CCTV be installed.
REPLY:
An undertaking was given in response to the motion submitted on the agenda of the January meeting of the area committee that the bottle banks at Moy Glas / Griffeen Road would be cleaned. An instruction was issued to the service contractor at the time to carry out the work however it remains outstanding at present. The contractor has now given a commitment to carry out the cleaning work required in the next week to two weeks. The damaged signage referred to will be inspected and repairs carried out as necessary. It should be noted that the area around the bottle banks, and across the area between Moy Glas and Castle Riada estates known as The Esker, has been the subject of an extensive clean up by the Council's Operations Section in recent days. Regrettably the Environmental Services Department is not in a position to install cctv at this location.
