MOTION NO. 26

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

That this Committee requests the Manager to draw up proposals for the extension of the Grand Canal Green Route, including lighting and CCTV, from its current end-point at Griffeen Avenue to the footbridge at Esker Glebe/Cherbury via Griffeen Valley Park; and to actively seek funding from the NTA for this ‘Smarter Travel’ initiative which would promote increased pedestrian/cycle activity.

REPORT:

Whilst this proposal does not form part of current applications for funding to the NTA, it is a potentially worthwhile proposal that subject to consideration of an overall cycle network for the Lucan area, could form part of future applications for funding to the NTA, later this year.
