MOTION: Councillor M. Duff

Cathaoirleach's Business:

That this Committee calls upon the Manager to make a report indicating what progress, if any, has been made in relation to the reinstatement of public lighting on the roadway leading to the Baskball Arena in Tymon Park and to inform the Committee if any agreement was reached with Basketball Ireland regarding the cost of reinstatement of the lights.

REPORT:

There have been a number of meetings between the Council and Executive of the National Basketball Arena (NBA) to discuss and agree responsibility for a programme of works, including the public lighting, to the access road to the Basketball Arena.  The issue is being examined with reference to the individual and collective responsibilities of the NBA and the Council as well as the resources available to both organisations to undertake the necessary work.
