That this Committee further notes that this issue has been the subject of two previous motions and discussions and a number of Traffic Management Meetings with no contact with residents being made despite commitments given and the prospect of the matter becoming a bigger issue during the spring and summer months.

REPORT:

Council officials met with the owners of this property on Wednesday afternoon the 14th March 2012 to discuss parking issues at this location. The residents indicated that their cul-de-sac is used on a regular basis by motorists wishing to access the playground in Sean Walsh Park which has pedestrian access from this cul-de-sac. They also stated that some of these motorists in parking on the public road park in such a manner as to block access to their driveway.  They were informed that the blocking of a driveway is an offence under Article 36(2)(g) of the Road Traffic (Traffic and Parking) Regulations, 1997. The enforcement of this legislation is a matter for the Gardai.  At the time of inspection there was no vehicle parked in front of this premises.
