MOTION NO. 26

MOTION: Councillor T. Ridge

That the Manager presents a report on what action is being taken by this Council on the derelict site at the 9th Lock Road (land adjacent to Dunnes Stores).

REPORT:

The site in question is the former Clondalkin Paper Mills site, it was recently inspected by the Council under Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990 and is deemed to be in a non derelict condition.

However, a letter has been issued to the registered owner requesting them to carry out a general tidy up of the site, which includes removal of rubbish and spraying of overgrowth.  The site will be monitored, and if the recommended works have not been carried out it may be necessary to consider taking further action under the Act.
