COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE
Wednesday, March 21, 2012
MOTION NO. 10
MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner
That the Manager reports on the issue of the litter blackspot which exists on the banks of the Camac river behind the railings at the civic offices in Clondalkin. This issue has been raised frequently before yet it persists.
REPORT:
The Council staff have inspected the area to ascertain what works are required to clear the dumped waste from the banks of the river. Individuals are continuing to drop waste over the railing which then becomes trapped by the vegetation on the river bank.
Due to its limited access from the forecourt area and its proximity to the flowing water the works will have to be risk assessed in conjunction with the Health and Safety Advisor to ensure that no member of staff is subject to a hazard whilst undertaking the works.
