QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager to report on the activities of the Operations Crew since the discussion on my motion at the February meeting and in particular to outline the dates on which Willsbrook Park (the actual park) was cleansed as per my numerous requests and also the dates on which Griffeen Valley Park was cleansed?

REPLY:

The Operations crew have been assigned to cleaning tasks on a daily basis in accordance with a weekly programme of scheduled cleaning work which has been put in place for both the Operations and Cleansing Sections.  This system of programmed works has been in place since the end of February on a trial basis.  Once the system is operating satisfactorily it is proposed that the weekly programme will be made available to the elected members. 

Willsbrook Park was cleaned by an Operations crew on 7^th March 2012, on which occasion the crew removed 120 kgs of waste from the area.

An Operations Crew was assigned to Griffeen Valley Park on the 13^th and 14^th March 2012.  The crew removed a total of 480 kgs of waste from the park on this occasion.
