QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff
"To ask the Manager indicate if all inspections of our housing stock in respect of window and door replacement has been carried out, as reported to date, and will he also indicate how many of these houses are accessed as grade 5. Will he give the number of replacements that have taken place so far this year, excluding the numbers that are upgraded pending allocation for a new tenant?"
REPLY:
The window and door replacement programme commenced two years ago. Replacements are carried out in date order of application and either a clear rent account or on an arrangement for a period of 6 months to clear the arrears and no anti-social record.
Window and door replacement requests are received on a daily basis so the inspection list is ongoing. These inspections are carried out by the Architects' Department. Excluding houses that have received works over the past two years, 561 houses have been inspected of which 421 are grade 5. In 2012, 13 replacements have been completed with a further 28 works in progress. This does not include any houses undergoing relet works pending allocation of a new tenant.
