QUESTION NO. 14
QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner
To ask the Manager to please provide an update on the current situation in relation to Glebe House in Rathcoole?
REPLY:
A section 59 Endangerment Notice was served on the owner of the Glebe House on 20th May 2011. The Notice expired on the 17th August 2011. Following on from a number of site inspections the Council's Conservation Officer recommended that legal proceedings should be initiated against the owner for failing to comply with the Section 59 Endangerment Notice. A court date was set for 14th Feb 2012 and based on discussions during the court hearing an undertaken was given in writing by the owner that the site would be made safe, roof tiles would be salvaged for re-use and that a temporary roof covering would be put in place to protect the structure from further water ingress.
It was agreed with the Council's Conservation Officer during the court hearing that a 6 week period would be provided to carry out the agreed works from the court date (14th Feb 2012). Following the 6 week period a site inspection will be carried out by the Council's Conservation Officer to ascertain if the required work as agreed in court has been carried out.
