QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor B. Lawlor
"To ask the Manager, in the light of various reports of sewerage difficulties in the Killakee View Firhouse area over recent months and years, to confirm the status of the public sewer system in the area and to clarify if it is in need of repair or replacement?
REPLY:
The Drainage Section is only aware of one house in Killakee View Estate, Firhouse that has a sewerage problem. This house has been visted by the Local Drainage Inspector on a number of occasions and he has informed the householder that the problem is on his own private drain and therefore his responsibility to fix. In the front driveway of this house is a small manhole which has no concrete floor and because of the roughness of the ground debris gets caught here and blocks the drain. The householder has been advised to repair this small manhole himself or get in a Contractor to do it.
