QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager to provide an update in response to my previous motion proposing reinstatement of a South Dublin Community Awards in 2012?

REPLY:

A working group has been formed to examine the restoration of the Community Awards Sceme. It is proposed to amalgmate the Beautiful South tidy districts competition with the  Community Awards Scheme and it is planned to hold the awards ceremony in September 2012.

In the meanwhile, the working group are examining the categories and will settle on an appropriate format and will  notify all community groups, residents associations and other community and voluntary bodies and organisations when the details have been finalised.
