MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

That the Manager carries out a review of traffic flows in the Jobstown area at peak times with a view to removing the current backlogs, particularly in relation to access to the Outer Ring Road and the N81.

REPORT:

Traffic from Jobstown accesses the N81 at the junctions in the vicinity of the ‘Jobstown Inn’. This junction was included for upgrade in an application for funding from the National Transport Authority as part of the Tallaght By-Pass QBC scheme. However this scheme was deferred by the NTA in 2012 as a result of the modifications to the Bus Atha Cliath routes under their recent revamp.  

Improvements in layout and better integration of Pedestrian Crossing at the junction will improve general junction capacity. These works may proceed subject to funding being identified for 2012.
