QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager to consider zebra crossings at the following locations: Whitehall Rd West near Millgate Drive and Rockfield Avenue and the Laurels Public House; Limekiln Road near St Peter's BNS and the entrance to Tymon Park; Greenhills Road near the Lidl supermarket and the town-bound bus stop opposite Greenpark; Airton Road?"

REPLY:

The list of locations is noted and these will be examined in the context of the Council's overall expenditure commitments in this area. As explained at the TMM the Council proposes to provide one Zebra Crossing in each of the 5 electoral areas of the County in 2012 as a pilot scheme as part of the modification proposals to the Council's existing policy of providing pedestrian lights only. This is currently being examined by the Transport SPC.
