MOTION NO.4
MOTION: Councillor D. Looney
That the Manager will provide a list of options for dealing with parking on the green in Temple Manor estate, Greenhills, which is damaging the green itself and the overall amenity in the area; and that this Committee discuss the issue.
REPORT:
The parking that is taking place on the open space in Temple Manor would appear to be conducted by the residents of the estate. While it should not be necessary to have to place a sign advising the public against parking on an open space, there is a sign on this open space stating that parking is not allowed. A recent inspection has revealed that this sign has been vandalized and arrangements are being made to have it reinstated.
There is no necessity for people to park cars on the open space as the estate road is wide enough to accommodate cars that cannot be parked in driveways - most of which have ample space for two or in some cases three cars. If car parking continues to take place on the open space, the Council will seek the assistance of the Gardaí in dealing with the matter.
