REPLY:
Rental Accommodation Scheme
31st January 2012.
1,448 Rent Supplement recipients have transferred to the Rental Accommodation Scheme since the council started implementing the scheme in 2005 . A combination of transfers was involved however the majority transferred in their existing accommodation. The remainder were transferred to the scheme in alternative accommodation for a variety of reasons including inappropriate sized property (underaccommodated/overaccommodated) and their landlord being unwilling to take part in the scheme. Vacant properties were contracted into the scheme to facilitate this category of transfer.
Since their transfer to the scheme some tenants have moved again for a variety of reasons including moving to alternative accommodation, moving abroad, moving to another county, purchasing their own property.
At the end of January1,209 families were living in RAS homes in the county.
4,360 private rented properties have been inspected under the Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations.
Social Housing Leasing Initiative

The rollout of the social housing leasing scheme as a mechanism in the provision of housing for persons on the social housing lists commenced in mid 2010.
Lease agreements on privately owned properties have been agreed county wide in 132 cases and these properties have been tenanted . 72 of the 132 properties are in the Tallaght area.
A further 31 cases are currently in process county wide, 12 of which are in the Tallaght area.

Springfield (RESPOND) VHA - 190 Units
15 x 3 bed apt
48 x 2 bed apt
106 x 1 bed apt
12 x group housing
9 x short term housing
Certificate of practical completion issued August 2011 (allocation of units ongoing)
Mac Uilliam Playground and Landscaping - Playground completed in December 2011. Minor landscaping works to be completed around the outside of Playground and community garden area once ground dries out.
SCHEMES IN PREPARATION
Deerpark - 8 Units
Progress to contract stage in 2012 - dependant on availability of funding from the DOEHLG 2012 allocation (to be advised). Current indications are that this will not be forthcoming.
