QUESTION NO. 6
QUESTION: Councillor M. McDonagh
To ask the Manager to provide an update on the window replacement programme for the Clondalkin ward in 2012 including the total allocation for the year; the numbers of houses expected to have their windows replaced; and any information relating to decisions made to date on those tenants who can expect their window replacement to take place this year?
REPLY:
The window programme commenced two years ago. 91 were completed in the first year in the Clondalkin/Lucan Area, which represented 45% of the total completions of 203. A further 76 were completed last year, which represented 39% of the total completions of 193. An allocation of €1 million has again been received this year for replacement of windows and doors on a countywide basis. There are 197 examined in this area of which 158 of these are grade 5.
In Clondalkin 1 house has been completed and a further 3 are in progress. Tenants are notified in writing prior to inspection for grading and again when they are given to contractor for replacement.
