Update on HGV Restrictions

REPORT:

The issue of HGV restrictions in the Lucan area has been discussed previously at the SPC, particularly the potential impact on economic activity. The matter of HGV restrictions on the Outer Ring Road continues to be examined by the Council's Law Agent who has recommended that considering the complexity of the legal issues involved in this matter, that it would be prudent to engage Senior Counsel to advise on the matter.  

In the meantime the consultation with stakeholders will continue and at a meeting of the Lucan & Clondalkin Members convened on Friday 6th January it was agreed that additional measures would be identified to improve safety at the school and brought back to the two committees for their information.
