QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave
"To ask the Manager if there were any litter fines served to people who were dumping garden waste at the Christmas tree recycling area at the Car park at Cherryfield (off the link road between Firhouse Road and Spawell Roundabout). There is CCTV in this area and could be used against people dumping?"
REPLY:
The area in question has and continues to be monitored by the Council's Litter Warden on a daily basis. However, no evidence has been found to enable any prosecutions under the Pollution Act 1997. While there is a CCTV mounted at this location, the camera is focused on the perimeter of the Traveller Accommodation Site only.
