MOTION NO. 9

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

Cathaoirleach's Business

"That the Manager include in the survey of recent Flood damage on the Whitechurch Stream/Glin River the Willbrook Grove area close to the bank of the Whitechurch Stream. The bank of the Whitechurch Stream at Willbrook Grove is over grown with Willow trees that are damaged and rotting due to lack of maintenance. These trees are a danger and would be prone to collapsing into the river and may flood. There is a rotten tree near house, 8 Willbrook Grove, and a dangerous tree near the footbridge at Willbrook Grove."

REPORT:

The willow trees growing along the banks of the Whitechurch River at Willbrook Grove will be examined to see if they are interfering with the flow of the river and causing a build up of debris that would cause a blockage in the river and therefore flooding. There is a fallen rotten tree lying across the river banks beside No.8 Willbrook Grove that should be removed. This will be arranged.
