Climate Change progress report

A Climate Change strategy progress presentation was provided by Maire O’Sullivan, Senior Architect. Following contributions from Cllr La Hart, Cllr Walsh, Cllr Bonner & Cllr Hannon, Ms O’Sullivan responded to the issues raised by the members.

 

 

 

Item 4

Bad weather leaflet update

A report on the “How to prepare for bad weather” leaflet was presented by Sorcha O’Brien, Environmental Awareness Officer. Following contributions from Cllr Walsh, Cllr Devine, Cllr La Hart, Cllr Hannon and Ms Connie Kiernan, Director of Services Ms Poole responded to the issues raised by the members.

It was requested that a report be brought back to the SPC regarding the non delivery of leaflets to households that have “No Junk Mail” signs on their post boxes.

Litter Fines and Enforcement - Update

An update report on the Level of Enforcement and Collection Rates was presented by Ms Donnelly, Administrative Officer. Following contributions from Cllr Walsh, Ms Kiernan, Cllr Devine, Cllr Lavelle, Cllr Hannon and Mr Lee the Director of Services Ms Poole responded to the issues raised by the members.

Election poster policy - update

Cllr Hannon introduced the election poster policy item providing information on the progress to date of a voluntary code of practice regarding Election posters.  Following contributions from Cllr Walsh, Cllr Lavelle, Cllr Bonner and Cllr Devine, Cllr Hannon responded to the issues raised by the members.

It was proposed by Cllr Hannon that the draft election poster policy be recommended to the Council for adoption this was seconded by Cllr Walsh

Waste Byelaws

A report on the Waste Byelawswas presented by Yvonne Dervan, Senior Executive Officer. Following contributions from Cllr Lavelle, Cllr Devin and Ms Wallace the Director of Services Ms Poole responded to the issues raised by the members.

It was requested by Cllr Hannon that a working group from the SPC be established to consider the Waste Byelaws and to come back to the SPC with a draft policy.  Cllr Devine, Ms Wallace, Cllr Bonner, Cllr Lavelle, Cllr Coburn and Cllr Hannon all volunteered to be part of the working group.
