MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

That this Committee requests that the Manager progresses SLO 37 of the Development Plan: “to prepare a Masterplan for the area around the 12th Lock” prior to any further design work on the proposed R120 road upgrade.

REPORT:

Work will commence on a Masterplan for the 12th Lock area in accordance with SLO 37 of the County Development Plan in 2012 subject to the  prioritisation of work within the Planning Department.  Any work on a masterplan for the 12th Lock must consider the proposed R120 upgrade.  It is part of SLO 37 to secure physical and infrastructural improvements including "the upgrading of the the R120 Newcastle Road".
