QUESTION NO.13

QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager to list all trees pruned, removed or otherwise dealt with on St Peter's Crescent, Walkinstown this winter, and to ask if the trees at the start of the road (off St Peter's Drive) will be dealt with similarly?"

REPLY:

The current Arboricultural Works Programme 2012, presented at the Tallaght Area Committee meeting on the 5th December 2011, and which will be ongoing until December 2012, does not include any tree pruning or removal on St. Peter’s Crescent.  St. Peter’s Drive is also not listed on the programme.  The programme was agreed with the Elected Members on the basis that it was one that the Council could be reasonably confident of achieving within the existing resources available.

Nevertheless, the Council undertakes arboricultural  work outside of the programme but only on an emergency or public safety basis and low hanging branches have been pruned outside of 22, 54, 79 and 76 St Peter’s Crescent.  In St Peters Drive a mature London Plane tree has been removed from outside of house No 45 and it is also planned to remove the tree outside of 8 and 75 St Peter's Crescent. It is proposed that St. Peter’s Drive and Crescent will be considered for inclusion as part of a future Arboricultural Programme.
