QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"To ask the Manager to ask the Manager for a report on the progress of the proposed new playground in Tymon Park and indicate if a contract has being issued for the construction of same and a timeline for completion of such works."

REPLY:

Tender documents are currently being finalized for the proposed new playground in Tymon Park.  As soon as these have been completed it is proposed to advertise the tender.  In relation to the timeline for the tendering phase of the project, it is anticipated that the advertisement of the tender, analysis of the quotations received and Manager's Order recommendation, allowing for the timeframes required by Procurement Policy and any appeals against the determination of the tender process, will take between four and five months.

While the project has been included in the Capital Programme, the identification of the nessary funding to enable the project to advance to the contract stage is ongoing.
