PRE-DRAFT PUBLIC CONSULTATION FOR PROPOSED NEWCASTLE LOCAL AREA PLAN
REPORT:
A six week period of Pre-Draft Public Consultation for the Proposed Newcastle Local Area Plan commenced on Monday 16th January and will end on Friday 24th February 2012. Consultation is as follows:
- Letters were sent on 16th January 2012 to various stakeholders inviting submissions and enclosing a leaflet, which provides further information and some general guidance for making a submission or observation
- A public notice inviting submissions will be placed in the Clondalkin Gazette on Thursday 19th January 2012
- Council staff will be available to answer general queries and provide guidance on the Pre-Draft Consultation at St Finian’s Community Hall, Newcastle at the following times:
Monday 30th January 2012 1.00pm-4.00pm
Thursday 2nd February 2012 4.00pm-7.00pm
Monday 6th February 2012 4.00pm-7.00pm
Thursday 9th February 2012 1.00pm-4.00pm
- Pre-draft consultation information for the Proposed Local Area Plan can be viewed during normal opening hours (excluding public holidays) at the Civic Offices, Clondalkin; County Library and County Hall, Tallaght; and at St Finian’s Community Hall, Newcastle.
- A leaflet and posters can be viewed on the Council’s website at www.southdublin.ie.
- Staff will also be available to provide general guidance and answer queries on the Pre-Draft Consultation every Wednesday afternoon between 2.00pm and 4.00pm at County Hall, Tallaght, during the public consultation period.
An Environmental Report will be prepared as part of a Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Proposed Local Area Plan at a later stage. The proposed Local Area Plan will also be subject to Appropriate Assessment Screening under the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC).
