MOTION NO. 17

MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

That the Manager presents a report on the properties that the Council is involved with under NAMA in the Clondalkin area.  Should these properties be given to the Council free of charge?

REPORT:

The Council has not had direct discussions with NAMA in relation to the provision of social housing units.  There are general discussions between NAMA and the Housing Agency on the availability of vacant dwellings for social use and once details of these discussions become available the Members will be advised. 

It is anticipated that there will be eighteen properties in the first tranche for South Dublin County Council and that these properties will be made available under the Leasing Initiative.
