QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine
To ask the Manager for an update on the Priority Transfer Applications -with particular reference to the volume of applications, how 2011 compares to previous years and length of time taken to process same?
REPLY:
There are currently 720 Transfer applications with a further 96 to be processed. 24 applicants have been awarded priority on Anti-Social and Compassionate Grounds and are waiting for appropriate accommodation to become available .Eight of these applicants have refused offers of accommodation and a further 3 have serious rent arrears. Two have been nominated to suitable voluntary housing associations .
Fifteen Transfer applicants have been granted priority on medical grounds to standard accommodation which will be facilitated shortly. Please note that one refusal of offer has been received in this category.
The table below outlines those housed on priority grounds over the past 4 years.
The average time taken to accommodate those granted priority was 8 weeks.
