MEETING OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

Monday, January 16, 2012

QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor C. Bond

To ask the Manager to provide an update on the progress of all proposed quality bus corridors in the county?

REPLY:

There is currently a proposal for a QBC in  Rathfarnham (Rathfarnham QBC ) which is a joint Scheme with the City. This scheme is at detailed design stage and is being  funded through the National Transport Authority Design Office ( formerly the Quality Bus Network Project Office). The Scheme received Part 8 approval in 2011.

There is also a current application for funding to the National Transport Authority for a scheme to improve bus access to The Square.  It is also intended to advance the details of the already approved Greenhills Road QBC in 2012.
